Chris Matthews is the Founder and CEO of Svella AI, a UK-based consultancy that helps businesses adopt artificial intelligence practically and profitably. He is known online as @christheaiguy, and he speaks, writes, and consults on the intersection of AI strategy, operational efficiency, and business growth.
His career began in civil engineering before moving into technology, running a computer hardware business, and then network cabling and infrastructure. After completing an MBA in Strategic Management, he founded Alevere and Silverlink Clinics, building them from a single treatment room into a national chain of weight management and physiotherapy clinics across England and Scotland. At its peak, the business employed over 130 staff and had helped more than 10,000 patients lose a combined 21 tonnes of weight.
He sold the business to an investment company in January 2023 and returned to technology, founding Svella AI to help business owners cut through the noise of artificial intelligence and find the implementations that actually move the needle.
He created the SSAMM Method (Simplify, Systemise, Automate, Monitor, Manage), a practical operating system that gives SMEs a clear route from AI confusion to working, measured implementation. Rather than jumping straight to AI tools, the SSAMM Method fixes the order: strip out waste, build repeatable workflows, then add AI and automation where it genuinely helps.
He is the author of "The Profitable Practice Playbook" (available on Amazon) and "The AI Forward Family Office" (coming soon). He speaks at industry events on AI adoption, digital transformation, and business growth, and runs a 90-day Signature Coaching Programme for business owners at an inflection point.

Chris created the SSAMM Method as a five-stage operating system that gives SMEs a clear, structured route from AI paralysis to working, measured implementation. It is designed for business owners who know they need to do something about AI but do not know where to start.
